What is a VPS – Advantages of VPS hosting

  • Posted on September 29, 2014 at 8:43 am

What is a VPS?

VPS is known as Virtual Private Server. VPS hosting is a combination of Shared hosting and Dedicated hosting. It is created with the help of virtualization software. This type of software is responsible to create different portions within a single physical server and turns that single server into several separately-working partitioned servers.

Now you must think that why it is different from shared hosting and Dedicated hosting?

Then the answer is in case of cost, VPS is similar to Shared hosting. The cost of VPS hosting is a little bit more than shared hosting. In case of Flexibility and Security, VPS is similar to dedicated hosting. In case of VPS hosting there are many private servers created in a single physical server each functioning separately. Every physical server will work as an independent force, totally indifferent of its neighboring servers and will also act like a proper networked server.

What are the advantages of VPS hosting?

There are many advantages of VPS hosting. Some advantages are as follows :

1.Stability : The stability of VPS hosting is much better than Shared hosting. The traffic and other activities of other VPS users wouldn’t badly affect on your website operations.

2.Performance : VPS users have their own allotment of resources that’s why VPS permits your visitors to enjoy minimum load times.

3.Dedicated Resources : You will get more disk space, CPU and also RAM with VPS hosting.

4. Flexibility : You can choose your favorite operating system and also reboot your server independently with VPS hosting.

5. Root Access: VPS users get root access to manage their virtual servers. Users can manage and also configure software installations. Users can manage these all processes with the help of their own control panel application.

6. Management and Support: VPS users don’t have to worry about management and support. Now maximum hosting providers offer VPS with management and also support, means user’s hosting provider will be responsible for any kind of technical issues, software installation etc.

7.Server Monitoring: Any superior VPS hosting provider will effectively monitor its network and hardware that the user’s account relies on. It assures the physical security of the server and also assists in defending against virtual threats such as hackers, malicious software and DDoS attacks.

9. Backups: In case of VPS “backup” is a very common name. Anything can happen within the providers network, so you must take your own data backup manually to assure that it can be restored at any time and choose only that hosting provider who takes user’s regular data backup.

At the end of this discussion we can say that, VPS hosting permits many features, resources, control and flexibility of a more costly and complex dedicated server in very low cost. But you have to choose a proper hosting provider for your business.

Is It Time To Change Your Business Internet Provider

  • Posted on September 29, 2014 at 8:03 am

Whether you recognize it or not, it may be the time to switch to a new business broadband provider. As a responsible business owner, it is up to you to keep tabs on all of the business processes that keep your business running. Sometimes, youll find that processes that were once adequate are no longer doing the job. Business internet, for example, is the type of service that you may have to take a look at every few quarters and identify if your current provider is still the clear cut choice you considered them to be when you first invested in them. Maybe it is a lack of modern technology, or maybe is it the case of a lack of performance. Whatever the case may be, an occasional observance of the effectiveness of your current business internet plan is an easy way to see if your company has any room for improvements within its technological infrastructure.

What if your current business internet provider is not delivering the required speeds they promised at the start of your contract? And in addition, how would you know? First of all, just because it feels as if your internet is working smoothly doesnt mean that you should assume that everything going on behind the scenes is A-Okay. There is a always the chance that you arent getting the maximum amount of internet speed that you are contracted for. Being complacent with lower business internet speeds than you should be getting can negatively affect your business whether you directly notice it or not. It may seem smooth at first, but the bits of time that are being wasted by that slow connection during uploads and downloads add up very quickly over a weekly basis, especially if you have dozens of internet connected devices using that slower-than-it-should-be business broadband connection. That valuable time equates to lost money, and that is also time you could have been spending getting to work on your next project.

There are countless free websites on the internet that can be used to test your business internet connection. You should use these free speed tests to determine whether or not your current business internet provider is hitting their numbers. These tests will interpret your upload and download speeds, which you can simply compare to the predetermined performance of your business broadband provider. Based on that information, determine whether or not it is time to change your business internet provider. There are a lot of quality business broadband providers out there that have the technology and proven track record to deliver on promised results. Dont waste time and money with a provider who doesnt deliver on the speeds you think you are paying for!

Exchange Server Recovery to Fix Transport Database Corruption

  • Posted on September 29, 2014 at 4:58 am

Are you facing fatal errors while accessing your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 database? Is your EDB (Exchange Server Database) file is inaccessible? The fatal error in Exchange server aborts the application and thus makes it unusable. This behavior of MS Exchange Server renders all your valuable data inaccessible and cause critical data loss situations. In order to get your precious data recovered in such situations, you need to repair and restore the damaged EDB file, using an EDB Recovery solutions.

As an example, MS Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack for Operations Manager supervises the MS Windows Application Event log on systems, which are running MS Exchange Server 2007 and returns the below event:

“Product Name: Exchange
Product Version: 8.0 (Exchange Server 2007)
Event ID: 17003
Event Source: MSExchangeTransport
Alert Type: Critical Error
Description: A Transport database operation has encountered a fatal error. The database may be corrupted. The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is shutting down. Manual database recovery or repair may be required.”

After the above error, Microsoft Exchange Server does not let you access your database. At this point, you have to verify the cause of this problem and perform EDB File Recovery by resolving it.

Cause:

The error message below indicates that specified ESE (Extensible Storage Engine) database is damaged. It is preventing MS Exchange Server services from starting.

– ESE, also called JET Blue, is an ISAM (Indexed Sequential Access Method) data storage technology intended by Microsoft. The ESE is particularly used as a key component of the Microsoft Exchange Server and the Active Directory.

How to Fix ESE Corruption:

You can carry out following things to sort out this issue-
1. Delete the defined database and corresponding transaction logs. You must not remove the database if you have significant data in the database.

2. Repair the damaged database using Isinteg.exe tool or restore it from backup.

However, if none of the above methods helps you to work around the problem, EDB Recovery Tool is the only option to go for. They carry out in-depth scan of entire EDB file using high-end scanning techniques and restore all database objects such as emails, notes, contacts, tasks, and more.

The software enable you to recover corrupt EDB file in a quick and easy way as they are incorporated with simple and self-descriptive graphical user interface. The integrity of your database is always preserved by these tools.

EDB Recovery Software is the most preferred recover EDB solution to repair and restore EDB files in all cases of corruption. The EDB Recovery is designed for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, 2003, 2000, and 5.5.

Do Protein Bars Really Work Science Fair Topic

  • Posted on September 29, 2014 at 12:21 am

A quick trip down the sports nutrition aisle at your local grocery store quickly brings to light how many products are sold to improve sports performance and health. Each product has been specially designed to do something for your body. Some products are designed to replenish your electrolytes after a heavy workout while others are designed to help rebuild your muscles after a strenuous workout. However, have you ever wondered if the claims made by these products are accurate? This is something that you can test with your science fair project.

Protein Bars

Protein bars are marketed to two specific demographics, people who want to lose weight and people who want to build muscles. The protein bars that are marketed to people trying to lose weight claim that they are able to curb your appetite and to provide your body with lean protein to help encourage weight loss. The protein bars that are marketed to people who are trying to build muscle claim that they provide a quality protein source that will enable the person to build more muscle.

Science Fair Topics

There are a couple of angles that you can take when developing this topic into a science fair project. The first angle is to focus on the weight loss claims and the second option is to focus on the muscle building properties of the bars. If you select the weight loss claims to test then you will need to select people to test that are trying to lose weight and if you select the muscle building claims then you will need to experiment with people who already are training to build muscle.

Testing Weight Loss Claims

The first direction that you can take in a protein bar science fair project is to see how effective it is at aiding in weight loss. To start with you will need to recruit two groups of dieters. The first group will be your control group. They will follow a healthy diet plan, like the Zone, but they will not supplement that diet with protein bars. The second group will be the test group. They will follow the same diet plan as the control group, however, they will add protein bars to their diet as a snack once a day.

To start the experiment both groups will be weighed and measured. They will then be given diet and exercise instructions. They will be given a diet journal to keep each day. This journal will include what they ate, how much they exercised and how they felt. At the end of weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 the groups will be weighed and measured. After the 4th weigh in the data will be analyzed to determine if protein bars are aiding in the weight loss of the test group.
