Mobile Communication A Cutting Edge Technology

  • Posted on July 13, 2018 at 8:02 am

Wireless communication has diffused faster than any other communication technology in history. To begin with, the most pervasive technology in this field has been Mobile Phone which brought a wave of variations in the mode of communication.

Within a span of about 10 years Mobile telephony has moved from being the technology of a privileged few to an essentially main stream technology. It actually began to take off world wide in mid 90s when the ratio of mobile to land line phone went up from 1:34(1991) to about 1:8(1998). By 2000 the ratio of mobile phone to land line phone rose to 1:2 and by 2003, mobile phone subscriptions had overtaken mainline subscription for the first time. Since then mobile phone subscriptions have continued to rise effectively at a fast rate. With the passage of time mobile phones have not only become substitutes for wired phones but have overshadowed them.

There has been a significant increase in mobile phone subscription in the past decade and mobile phones have outstripped fixed lines in most countries. The main reason being that the mobile phones come with a wealth of features like text messaging, email, internet access, games, music playback, personal organizer, etc. The mobile phone technology is getting more and more advanced with each passing day.

Considering the importance of WIRELESS INTERNET –Although there are a variety of ways to access the internet wirelessly( for example mobile phones, pagers, laptops, PDAs) access via mobile phone has received the most kind attention in the past few years , probably because mobile phone is the primary mode used to remain connected with information and resources.

It has been rightly quoted “With mobile phone in your hands the world is at your finger tips.”

Further emphasizing on the future of internet and communication it has been rightly said “The future of the internet and computing application is not going be in the home or at the office ; its going to be MOBILE” —-Nigel Clifford, Sybian Secondly preference for asynchronous communication method suits the fast & modern lifestyle. As we all know email is considered more efficient, faster, cost effective and secured means of communication. Today’s global workforce demands “anywhere, anytime” technology. Information on the move is a necessity as well as an advantage.

Emails brought us the freedom to communicate quickly with anyone anywhere over the internet. Being the most cost effective and efficient method to transmit all kinds of electronic data, it has become indispensable for professionals, students and probably for everybody who has the need to access emails while on the move.

For modern enterprises, the benefits of accessing emails on mobile are clear: its convenient and provides for new opportunities, and they are an exceptionally effective way for workers to stay connected with both colleagues and back-office information It provides

1. Increased employee productivity while away from the office.

Forensic Science Technician Jobs Opportunities And Salary

  • Posted on June 27, 2018 at 9:54 am

If you are interested in forensic science technician jobs, and have completed a degree program in forensics (or chemistry or biology with a concentration in forensics, depending on what was available to you), there are a lot of places where you can look to try to find available forensic science technician jobs.

Before starting your job search for forensic science technician jobs, it might be useful for you to go to the US Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics website (www.bls.gov) to find out what type of salary you should expect for different types of positions in different locations.

The American Academy of Forensic Sciences lists forensic science technician jobs on their website at www.aafs.org. There aren’t necessarily a lot of positions posted here at any one time, but it is a good place to start your search.

You can also look for forensic science technician jobs on general job search websites. However, as there are many possible titles for these jobs, you should be sure to search under all the possibilities. These include: Ballistic Expert, Ballistician, Forensic Ballistics Expert, Crime Lab Technician, Crime Laboratory Analyst, Crime Scene Analyst, Crime Scene Investigator, Crime Scene Technician, Crime Specialist, Criminalist, Criminologist, Evidence Technician, Fingerprint Classifier, Fingerprint Expert, Forensic Chemist, Forensic Investigator, Forensic Pathology, Forensic Scientist, Keeler Polygraph Operator, Latent Fingerprint Examiner, Lie Detector Operator, Polygraph Examiner, Polygraph Operator, Ballistic Technician, Evidence Technician, and Forensic Science Technician, among others.

Different forensic science technician jobs focus on different aspects of the job. You might want to concentrate on applying for the forensic science technician jobs which require the skills you have the most experience with, or enjoy the most. If you have a lot of experience with polygraph tests, it might be better to apply for a Polygraph Examiner Position rather than a more general Forensic Science Technician.

According to Payscale.com, if you are just getting started out on your career, you can expect to make a median salary of $30,000 to $40,000 per year or so for forensic science technician jobs. Those with 10 years experience in forensic science technician jobs have a median salary of $64,998 per year, so experience definitely makes a difference in salary for this career.

Working for the federal government is also likely to pay more than working for state and local governments or a university. Location also makes a difference, with those working in some cities making much more than those in other cities. Louis Zhang, Certforensictechnician dot com

Modern Technology In Sports

  • Posted on June 27, 2018 at 1:34 am

What is it about sport that makes it so attractive to people? Is it the adrenaline rush of competitive and/or dangerous sport? Is it the feel good factor of recreational sport; is it the opportunity of socialising with others, or perhaps all of the above? Whatever the reasons may be, sport is certainly getting more and more popular, especially in the developed world.

A major factor in the popularity of sport is the role of modern technology. Improvements in modern technology have resulted in better playing conditions and equipment for players as well as greater viewing pleasure for spectators.

Perhaps the greatest changes have taken place in the designing of sporting facilities – such as modern sports surfaces and improved artificial lighting that offer increased opportunity to play. Modern sports surfaces are low maintenance, therefore low cost, and allow year round use. Professional technical expertise is needed to design and install a modern sports surface. Properties such as its rebound resistance, slip resistance, and shock absorption are measured to ensure that the surface is going to provide optimum playing conditions for that sport, whilst giving players ease of movement and adequate protection from injury. Regular maintenance of sports surfaces, both outdoor and indoor is recommended to ensure safety of players.

Along with an increased number of players there are also an increased number of viewers all over the globe. With the spread of satellite TV, events in one part of the world can be watched real time, in another. Modern flood lighting has not only allowed greater use of sports facilities at the recreational level, but also made possible higher-level competition fixtures such as day-night cricket matches, night-time football matches etc. Electronic score boards, photo-finish timing devices, slow motion replays and large viewing screens have also added to the viewing pleasure of spectators.

Modern materials are used in the manufacture of synthetic sports surfaces as well as sports equipment. Third generation synthetic grass is made from polymers and provides a maintenance free all-weather surface for sports. The use of composite materials makes sports equipment such as rackets and protective gear, lighter and more durable, enabling athletes to further improve their performance. Advances in modern technology have also led to improvements in the design of sports equipment such as trainers and sports shoes, starting blocks for use in athletics, pole vaults etc.

Whilst it is difficult for the average user of sporting equipment to keep up with the latest developments, as a guide in the UK sports equipment and sports facilities and surfaces should comply with British standards. Some governing bodies of individual sports also offer certification to demonstrate compliance with international standards.

Human Psychology The Science

  • Posted on June 20, 2018 at 9:47 pm

Human psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. The scientific method is a way to determine facts and control the possibilities of error and bias when observing behavior. The five methods involved in the scientific method are perceiving the question, forming the hypothesis, testing the hypothesis, drawing conclusions and reporting the results.

Psychologist use naturalist and laboratory settings to describe behaviour. Naturalistic observations involve watching people in their natural environments but have the disadvantage of lack of control. Laboratory observations involve watching people in an artificial but controlled situation, such as a laboratory.

While studying human psychology, psychologists use case studies and surveys to describe behavior. Case studies are detailed investigations of one subject, whereas surveys involve standardized questions of large group of people who represent a sample of the population of interest. Information gained from case studies cannot be applied to other cases since people responding to surveys may not always tell the truth or remember information correctly.

While studying human psychology, many techniques are involved. Correlation is a statistical technique that allows researchers to discover and predict relationships between variables of interest. Positive correlation exist when increase in one variable are matched by increases in the other variable, whereas negative correlations exist when increase in the other variable are matched by decrease in the other variable. Also, correlations cannot be used to prove cause-and-effect relationships.

Researchers use operational definitions, independent and dependent variables, experimental and control groups, and random assignments in designing an experiment for understanding more about human psychology. Experiments are tightly controlled manipulations of variables that allow researchers to determine cause-and-effect relationships. The independent variable in an experiment is the variable that is deliberately manipulated by the experimenter to see if related changes occur in the behavior or responses of the participants and is given to the experimental group. The dependent variable in an experiment is the measured behavior or response of the participants. The control group receives nothing or a placebo treatment. Random assignment of participants to groups within an experiment helps to control for individual differences both within and between the groups that might otherwise interfere with the experiments outcome. There are placebo and experimenter effects. Experiments in which the subjects do not know if they are in the experimental or control groups are single blind studies, whereas experiments in which neither the experimenters nor the subjects know this information are called double blind studies.

Review-Menial Skilled Labor in Science Fiction

  • Posted on June 18, 2018 at 12:13 am

Menial: Skilled Labor in Science Fiction, Kelly Jennings and Shay Darrach (ed.), 2013, ISBN 9780615705613

Most science fiction stories are bout tall, square-jawed adventurers exploring the galaxy and singlehandedly vanquishing the alien foe. What about the people who perform the unexciting “blue collar” jobs that make the voyages possible?

A being, of indeterminate gender, maintains a ship’s waste treatment system. A female asteroid miner has a unique companion. It is an alien-constructed being, made from human sperm. It looks exactly like a human, but, on the inside, there is no mind or personality. Imagine an episode of the TV show “The Deadliest Catch” moved to the asteroid belt.

On Titan, a human miner is caught in the conveyor belt that carries the pieces of rock out of the mine, and deposits them in a giant pile, in open vacuum. A trio of women spens their days walking on top of a domed city, patching up holes and cracks in the dome. Another story takes place on an Earth that has run out of energy. The only working motor vehicles are those that people build themselves. There is also a news story about the hazards involved in being part of the crew building a space station in orbit.

This is a strong, well done group of stories about a not-well-known part of society. There is a good variety of stories, from lesser-known authors, that are well worth reading.

True Lessons From Wallace Wattles’ The Science Of Getting Rich

  • Posted on June 11, 2018 at 8:37 pm

Everyone wants to have money in his/her life, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. We all want (and need) to have enough money to enjoy life and live to our fullest potential. But how do we get it? Many wise and successful people recommend to never be greedy, but to focus on abundance and “allow” money to come you. Never be fearful of poverty or lack; but instead, expect wealth as if it automatically comes to you.

Some people associate greed with having wealth. That is unfortunate. Having a greedy attitude is quite different from living as a wealthy person. To earn wealth, you will have to have control over your senses, and greed is an emotional response, not a controlled one.

Of course, no one can survive without resources and money. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles sends an important message on how to obtain those resources – a message that many successful individuals have learned to live by.

Once of Wattles’ ideas was that, when you think and act in a particular way, it decides your financial fate. In other words, your actions and thoughts lead to your goals – even if it is not always clear at first. When you choose your destination, where you want to go, you need to be very careful. If you spend too much your savings would be depleted, i.e. you won’t have sufficient funds available when opportunity DOES knock at your door. So it is important that you are disciplined and develop self-control about spending.

Keep your expenses under control and stay focused on your goals. In order to become rich you will also need to have an awareness of your self, your strengths and weaknesses. Self awareness helps greatly in the long run, making it easier and more enjoyable to go after and achieve your goals.

Each time you face difficulties, remember, you’re getting closer to your goals. Difficulties show you your true path towards success. It doesn’t matter if the interaction was social or business, if you keep a positive mindset about getting rich, you will leave a positive impression on others – and on yourself.

You should feel that you are taking each step closer towards achieving your goals. When you visualize yourself inching closer and closer towards success, success never remains far from you. Whether it is money or fame, anything is do-able. Wealth and fame can simply become a part of your life, and work with you according to your needs.

Everyone born in this world has the right to become rich. But the correct steps need to be taken in order to become a wealthy person. We need to stay positive, correctly outline our goals and work very hard towards achieving success.

Zoology Science Fair Projects

  • Posted on June 5, 2018 at 3:09 am

Among the topics of interest for students who wish to create zoology science fair projects those that involve ants are the ones most students will choose. A zoology science fair project will demonstrate the knowledge that students have learned regarding some particular type of animal. Ants hold a great fascination for children and adults alike. These amazing little creatures are communal and depend on each other for survival. Very seldom do we see a single ant. This type of living system makes ants a favorite topic for zoology science fair projects. Students can choose any number of subjects related to ants or any other animal to study for their zoology science fair projects.

One of the most interesting subjects that students study using ant populations is in the area of food choice. While most people are familiar with ants as uninvited guests at picnics, most people know very little about these tiny creatures. A zoology science fair project will use different foods to see which flavors, if any, the ants prefer. Students will conduct experiments and collect the data from these experiments in order to make a presentation for the zoology science fair projects. This data will then be used to compare different types of foods. It could then be used in supplemental studies to compare the flavor choices of different types of ants. These little creatures are more than willing to participate in these types of experiments because all that is required of them is that they eat!

Zoology science fair projects can also be performed on microorganisms such as bacteria. The zoology science fair projects can also be based on the osmosis and diffusion that is present in living cells. These types of zoology science fair projects are particularly suited to computer-generated presentations. Since these organisms and processes are too small for the human eye to see, students often have a difficult time grasping the concepts. Zoology science fair projects are a great way to demonstrate these types of scientific phenomenon. The presentations bring to life all the tiny components involved in the life experiences of living creatures. These and many other topics, such as the study of environmental changes for marine life, the effects of chemicals on animals, and how different conditions affect growth rates, can be explored with zoology science fair projects.

Disruptive Technology Affects Hr Staffing

  • Posted on June 3, 2018 at 11:52 pm

Clayton Christensen wrote a book in 1997 that created an earthquake in the global business world. His book, The Innovator’s Dilemma describes “disruptive technology” in the marketplace that creates a firestorm of innovation so quickly, that renders known, present technologies is obsolete. It’s the process of a product or service that takes root in simple applications at the bottom of the market and through relentless movement upward, suddenly displaces established competitors.

Examples of disruptive technology is described in these terms to these products: vinyl records were suddenly replaced by 8 track tapes that were replaced by cassettes that were replaced by cd’s that were replaced by iPods. What happened to the Walkman? Look at MP3 players and the iPod. What happened to 35mm film? Look at digital cameras. Kodak thought digital photography was a passing fad but when digital hit the marketplace and stayed and grew, it displaced 35mm film developing with instant photos through digital technology.

How does disruptive technology affect human resources staffing?

Disruptive technologies change the nature of an industry thereby changing a firm’s viability that does not adopt disruptive technologies. Although the technologies may not show immediate results, the sudden change will change human resource staffing in order to accommodate the technology success. The success could reflect lower cost, simpler operation, smaller size and greater convenience. That means technology success will eventually affect HR staffing in terms of decreasing or increasing the size of employee staffing. Either way, HR departments have to be ready for the change and work accordingly to stay up with the technology growth, company growth and relevance in the industry and ultimately, in the marketplace.

Both the intended and unintended effects of specific human resource practices must be considered and firms must be prepared to accept the development of unsuccessful new technologies as well as successful technologies that may develop into disruptive technologies. It is incumbent on the acting firm to stay on the cutting edge ahead of the competition but also keep an eye that employee loads and functions are inline with what is happening with technology. If the HR department does not stay up with the technologies, understaffing or overstaffing may occur, this can affect production and proper output. Bottom line advice to HR departments is to stay with the flow and see success with your company as disruptive technology breaks the competition.

Too Much Stimulation With Today’s Technology

  • Posted on May 29, 2018 at 1:55 pm

Is there anything more annoying than that person standing ni front of you in a grocery store or checkout line babbling away on a cell phone while a kind salesperson is trying to help them? The cell phone person nods and points directions at the clerk while enjoying a riveting conversation over nothing. There is nothing more annoying and we won’t even discuss people who miss green lights because of their nonsensical cell phone ramblings.

Turn off the cell phone and turn off the laptop and any other portable device you may be carrying with you. There is a certain amount of excitement and adventure in being inaccessible. It can be a little bit scary at first, not being on the grid, not being in constant communication with everyone on the outside world, but it is necessary to do once in a while to regain your sanity.

People have become so reliant on today’s new technology that personal communication has dwindled to nothing. How many times are you on vacation and someone has to dart back to the hotel room to check on the laptop to make sure no important messages were received on the e-mail? There’s a reason to take vacation, but now the new term is “working vacation.”

If you can just stay away from the cell phone for a few minutes, take a walk around the mall and you will see how many mindless drones are babbling away on their cell phones or texting their friends who are likely in the same mall at the same time. It gets to look ridiculous. If you invite friends with kids over to your house, place a ban on use of your computer or they will just sit there avoiding family time to message their friends.

Everybody needs some time to themselves and nothing short of an emergency is worth so much that it can’t wait a few hours. If you check your Facebook pages, chances are that 99 percent of the messages are just gibberish being written by people with nothing better to do. Take some time away from technology and enjoy life.
